  3. company founded 1920 by Harry and Jack Cohn
  4. and Joe Brandt. Under Harry Cohn's guidance,
  5. Columbia became a major studio by the 1940s,
  6. producing such commercial hits as Gilda 1946.
  7. After Cohn's death in 1958 the studio
  8. remained successful, producing international
  9. films such as Lawrence of Arabia 1962. The
  10. company now also produces television films
